Our Story
Why Senger?
Growing up in Southern California, we weren’t able to find all weather shoes that could stand up to the elements and still embrace our unique style. From mud, to rain, to snow, we were tired of our shoes getting ruined in the parking lots of our local ski areas. Inspired by the retro style of après-ski boots from the 70’s and 80’s, we set out to create a functional, yet stylish, water-resistant shoe. We hit the drawing board and designed what became Senger, an all-weather shoe that can take you anywhere no matter the conditions.
Who is Senger?
Senger was developed by 2 Southern California locals, Taylor and Eric, along with countless friends and family members. Taylor graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Business Administration and grew up skiing Mammoth and the Rockies. Eric graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Civil Engineering and grew up boarding Big Bear and Mammoth.
What is Senger?
Senger is a mountain peak located along the famous John Muir Trail in the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountain range in California. The peak was named after Joachim Henry Senger, a friend of John Muir and an original founding member of the Sierra Club. One of our co-founders, Eric, even completed the JMT back 2015.
We grew up exploring, skiing, snowboarding, backpacking and camping the areas around Sierra's, from Yosemite to Mammoth Lakes and historic Highway 395. Our draw to the region runs deep and we couldn’t be happier to be able to connect our brand to such an impactful place on our lives.
The Senger Scout - The Breakdown
Upper: Leathers and textiles treated for water resistance to prevent water absorption. High padded side walls provide additional support and stability
Lacing System: No laces? No problem. 3 premium leather Velcro straps to ensure easy access and provide maximum adjustability
Insole: Fur line side walls and a cushioned memory foam footbed combine to provide extra comfort and support after a long day at the mountain or night on the town
Midsole: Compressed PU and EVA with reinforced toe and heel caps strategically added to withstand everyday wear and tear and assist in repelling water
Outsole: Custom cross hatched rubber designed to handle any terrain with ease and durability
